In order to develop a methodology for assessing the stability of functioning of the elements of information infrastructure exposed to threats, an adequate mathematical model is required. The existing mathematical models allow considering a series of threat impacts and are characterized by significant descriptive complexity that can be reduced considerably. In this work, as a result of the research, a analytical mathematical model has been developed with the help of which the survivability function can be constructed with account for the single impact of a threat. It was demonstrated that the concretization of the general problem statement makes it possible to considerably simplify the model of functioning stability assessment while ensuring acceptable reliability of the result obtained. It has been established that to reduce complexity it is necessary to take additional measures to account for the error of the results obtained. A new formulation of the problem is given, which has respect to the available and required resource for restoring the elements functionality. This makes it possible to consider the real situation when taking a decision to ensure the stability of information infrastructure functioning.
